I've read a lot about WEN, CHAZ DEAN'S hair cleansing and conditioning "systems"…You only have to use a minimal amount of water (very eco-friendly!), it's free of shampoo's chemicals and detergents and the cleansing conditioners replace shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detagnler and leave-in conditioner! WOW. You do have to pump out several pumps of the stuff, (it doesn't lather because it doesn't contain Sodium Laurel Sulfate, the sudsing agent) so even though it's replacing a bunch of products, in the long run, it might just even out economically, though I haven't done the math. In fact I haven't even gotten to them yet as I've fallen for some of the body products in the meantime and I'm still using my special Brazilian Hair Straightening shampoo and conditioner after my treatment with LIZ DEVIN – BEST HAIR STYLIST + BRAZLILIAN BLOW OUT.
Since I'm pregnant I am pouring on this amazing FIG BATH, BODY AND HAIR OIL. I'm an oil queen and love nothing more than to turn a bottle over on my tummy and let it moisturize my every pore after a shower. This one seems to be lasting forever, even though I'm being super generous with it. The fig scent is a bit bitter, but I'm liking it. And I'm very curious about some of the other scents: Sweet Almond, Tee Tree, Cucumber Aloe and Lavender so I'll def order a couple as the price is right for sure on these. You can use it in the bath, in your hair or on your skin, of course… (4oz. $20)

Will WEN® really get my hair clean? Won’t I need shampoo?
WEN® uses a combination of natural extracts and botanicals to hydrate and cleanse your hair without the use of harsh detergents and chemicals. The perfect mixture and blend of its ingredients leave your hair healthy, moisturized, and cleansed. Once you start to use our products exclusively, you will never have to use shampoo ever again. In fact, you won’t even want to.
What is the difference between shampoo and WEN® Cleansing Conditioners?
First of all, WEN® cleanses the hair without harsh detergents or chemicals, leaving your hair clean and hydrated without stripping or lather. Since WEN® does not have any sodium laurel/laureth sulfates, it does not strip your color or your natural oils. This means, color will stay vibrant longer and you won’t be damaging your hair or scalp.
How do you use the WEN® Cleansing Conditioners?
WEN® is a simple and revolutionary way to clean your hair, eliminating the use of other products and thus omitting several steps in your daily cleansing regiment. Start by rinsing hair thoroughly and completely for at least one minute. Apply 8-10 pumps to the crown of your head and 8-10 pumps to nape/back of head. Massage vigorously into scalp for 2-3 minutes and add an extra splash of water to help evenly distribute through the ends. This makes it much easier to massage into your hairline and scalp, creating a cool and creamy consistency. Now add the remaining 10-20 pumps (depending on hair length) through the mid-shafts and ends, to thoroughly cleanse and hydrate the hair. Comb through with a wide-tooth comb and clip up for the remainder of the shower. Leave on for at least 3-5 minutes. The longer you leave it on the better for maximum results. Rinse thoroughly and completely for 1-2 minutes by massaging your scalp and running your fingers through to the ends.
The more product you use the better the results.
- For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 25 pumps.
- For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 35 pumps.
- For hair past your shoulders, use a minimum of 45 pumps.
After you are done thoroughly, thoroughly rinsing your hair, apply 1-3 pumps of the Cleansing Conditioner as a leave-in conditioner to soaking wet hair, starting at the back of the head and working through to the ends. Make sure your hair is still completely drenched, this step is to be done BEFORE you towel dry your hair. Immediately after, add 1-3 pumps of the Sweet Almond Mint Styling Crème to soaking wet hair starting at the back of the head and working thought to the ends. Let hair dry naturally, style or wrap a towel around your head to absorb moisture. Do not abrasively dry your head with a towel as this will stress the hair and cause it to frizz.
My hair looks greasy and/or weighed down. I tried using less of the product and it has not helped. What is wrong?
One of the most common misconceptions about the WEN® product line is that it works like a shampoo. Meaning, the more you use, the greasier your hair will end up. This couldn’t be further from the truth! In fact, if you aren’t using enough of the Cleansing Conditioner, it won’t be able to clean your hair. The correct number of pumps varies depending on a number of traits: length, texture, etc. If you want to be safe, the more you use of WEN®, the better.
How many times a week should I use WEN®? Will it damage my hair if I wash it every day?
The more you use WEN®, the better! You can use it every day, twice a day, and it will simply hydrate and moisturize your hair. In fact, we generally suggest that when you first start out with our product you use it every day. This will help to heal and re-hydrate the damage that shampoo (among many other things) has caused. As you continue to use our products, you will find that you no longer have to cleanse as often.
