France just got a little closer.

Melvita, #1 organic-certified beauty brand from Ardeche, a region in the south of France known for its natural beauty, just opened its third US retail space at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. And I couldn’t be more excited!

Forget about my passion for collecting the latest and greatest anti-aging serums, oils, lotions and mists – of which Melvita has many. I’m most excited about this line (whose parent company happens to be La Occitane) because of the company’s ECOCERT award and all-organic commitment. These days many brands claim to be “organic”, but very few are actually organic certified, as in… Melvita prides itself on being 100% hypoallergenic, free from animal testing and completely recyclable. Ooh la la!!!

But here’s something really new. Melvita has just launched the Young Skin Collection, a compilation of organic blemish fighting products designed for acne prone skin. As a mother of two, this really got my attention. Long gone are the days when harsh products like Sea Breeze and Clearasil are the only option for adolescent skin. Using complexion saving ingredients like lavender birch and peppermint, Melvita’s Young Skin products treat oily skin, leaving it clear and radiant, the natural way. My daughter has yet to get a pimple, but some of these products are so gentle, at just eight years old she is already taking her first steps toward healthy, responsible skincare.

Au naturel never felt so good.

XO Natash

Yummy and healthy home delivery – this one Vegan gourmet! GOBBLE GREEN.

October 13, 2010

I'm always on the lookout for a great home delivery food service, either because I'm due for a week of serious nutrition monitoring (read:  no hassle dieting) or simply because as a mom of a four year old and four month old, I'm too beat to cook.

One of my editors told me about GOBBLE GREEN - a vegan, gourmet delivery service.  For the record, I'm far from vegan but when I can take a break from meat, dairy and the like my body (and conscience) thank me!

Last night I received a box of vegan goodies on dry ice to throw in my freezer.  I tore threw the desserts (a divine brownie, fyi) before they defrosted and pounded them in no time.  Uh, yum.  Then I heated up some of the other deliciously tasty offerings and I was in full on vegan-ecstasy.  Tonight I heated the pizza, quiche, kung pao chicken and alool matar for the hubby and I.  Everything was tasty and we cleaned slash licked our plates. Once again, neither of us vegans!  Just very satisfied healthy home-delivery diners.

Check out the website for more fun offerings like THE GYM a virtual fitness portal.  Yup, you heard me. A customized personal training and nutrition program can be designed for you.

Gobble Green is clearly all about being healthy.  They offer several different customized meal plans for weight loss as well.

If home delivery and being a healthy animal-free eater is your thing, then Gobble Green is your thang.

Here, just salivate to these pix below…

Majestic Recovery – Private, exclusive one on one aftercare…

Hospitals suck. I should know.  Caught a nasty staph infection in one 6 years ago during hip replacement surgery.  So when I had surgery recently I chose to have it done in a crispy clean private surgery suite and made sure I was going to recover in a non-hospital (germ infested) environment – which basically gives me more anxiety than the thought of being covered in roaches.  There are a few of these high end recovery spots in town but when I heard about Rose, and her one on one  MAJESTIC RECOVERY, I knew this was the one for me.

Majestic Recovery offers a private, one on one full time, 24 hour-a-day nurse, who sleeps in your (gorgeous) boutique hotel room with you and tends to you like a mama bear on steroids.  Rose, whom I have nick-named and is now stored in my cell phone as "Rose The Angel" picks you up from surgery, whisks you (in a bad-ass Mercedes) to the darling Angelo Hotel and takes care of your every minute to minute recovery needs in a way that no hospital staff, hubby or mother-in-law could ever do.  Surgery sucks and the hardest part is recovering. Rose will get you through the toughest part – post anesthesia – which is so gross that I'll spare you the deets here – and get you to the other side with attentiveness and TLC that you cannot imagine.  The next day she will drive you back to your doctor for follow up and then home.  Or back to the hotel for as many more nights as you need.  The only problem is you WILL NOT WANT TO LEAVE.  When I learned that double hernia repair means you simply cannot move one inch without feeling as though you've been impaled by ten bulls, I ended up staying three nights in her care instead of my intended one.  Rose was able to accommodate my change of plans, no prob.

This kind of specialty does not come cheap.  A queen bed is $795 per night and $925 for a king.  But as far as I am concerned you simply cannot put a price tag on top-notch, professional, nurse-driven post-op care.  It is the singular most important part of the journey to the other side of any operation.  If you have surgery of any kind, elective or non-elective, first of all I feel for you as it SUCKS, but second of all I am going to tell you to try and find a way to figure this into your budget ahead of time.  I'm here to tell you that it will undoubtedly make all the difference, 150 %.

Natasha learns to LOVE THY HAIR. Marcus Daniels at Giuseppe Franco Salon in Beverly Hills for a Fiberceutic Intra-Cylane treatment.

I’m a bad girl – when it comes to my hair, that is. I brush, blow-dry, color, curl, straighten, swim and spend hours under the sun – and yet I simply refuse to cut my lifeless locks. Long, thick, shiny hair is a sign of youth, so treating it with love – and a little in-salon fiber-filling procedure — is crucial.

A few weeks ago I popped in for a visit with Marcus Daniels at Giuseppe Franco Salon in Beverly Hills for a Fiberceutic Intra-Cylane treatment. Inspired by non-surgical alternatives for the skin – think Botox, laser hair removal, etc – L’Oreal’s Fiberceutic is a technological breakthrough that provides emergency care deep inside the cortex of the hair fiber.

Marcus applied the serum, waited five minutes, rinsed, and voila – my hair was instantly reconstructed and strengthened. Jessie – the most insane stylist there – gave me a quick bang trim and dried my hair so well it lasted a full week.

I was turning heads as I bid farewell to Marcus and Jessie, FOR REAL. My hair looked amazing. My locks felt volumized, soft, silky, touchable. I was almost inspired to be good… Almost.
