Roving GROOMED L.A. correspondent, Jenifer, recently checked out Murad's FIRM & TONE BODY TREATMENT and reported back to me.

Here's what the treatment is about:

So here Jen fills us in on her experience:

No pain, no gain, right?

You get to chose the area of your body you want to focus on.  So clearly, it's all about legs & butt. Obviously. Here's what went down:

• The very knowlegable woman working on me started with a hard-core, dry loofah rub down of the areas I was going to be treating.  This exfoliated the old, dull skin.  Ok, no joke.  This hurt. 

( "A good hurt?"  I asked Jen.   "A REALLY INTENSE DRY SCRUBBING HURT,"  she answered.  No, screamed.  Hmm…this is the kind of hurt I LOVE, I'm thinking.)

• Next, my hips and butt were cleansed  and soaked in an infusion of pure vitamin C and followed by a unique combination of ingredients scientifically formulated to minimize imperfections and nourish skin.   We let it soak in a bit.  

• And then, I was rubbed, scrubbed, kneaded as she tried to work that cellulite out!  All this was done with her hands.  STRONG HANDS.

( "Ok, I'm falling in love," I told Jen. "Seriously, the harder someone kneads, the happier I am."  "Em, this was REALLY HARD!"  "Sold.")

This was not any type of frou-frou or feel-good massage, Jen informed me.  This was meant to take care of business.  The only  part of my body worked on was the butt and thighs and it was not for relaxation.  It was to flush out the cellulite.  Relaxing massage another time.  Cellulite and stretch mark attending NOW.

Jen's overall feel:

I was a bit red, and ouchy and but dare I say…the treatment had some effect? I felt a bit tighter and lifted the next day.  They suggest 8 treatments to get the job done.  I think I prefer a yummy massage to tell you the truth but I imagine that if cellulite and stretch marks are an issue for someone, and this claims to treat both, this may be something worth exploring as a series.
